Ballarat Station Precinct urban renewal

Simon McPherson (through SJB Urban) led the Master Plan for the Ballarat Station Precinct, integrating conservation of the heritage-registered Ballarat Station, adaptive re-use of the substantial railway sheds, enhanced transport infrastructure, mixed-use development opportunities and a network of new and public spaces.

Our dynamic team included Arup, Lovell Chen, NAVIRE and Rider Levett Bucknall, delivering a Business Case which supported the rapid transition from design, to government investment, to implementation.

Having participated in VicTrack’s team for the subsequent Stage 1 Schematic Design process, we look forward to construction of a new Quest hotel and convention facilities in the heritage Goods Shed, commencing in 2017.
